puff the majic exhaust pipe

So, for all you physics majors out there or , anyone with a firm grasp on smoke & water vapor...
hmm, wonder how many of my ex-schoolmates will chime in..now that I read that last sentence..

Anyway, so I'm wondering, why does a car smoke MORE when first started on a COLD morning, then gradually lessen as it warms up?
I mean, according to what I thought were principles of science & physics & general good intent, since the car is freezing when started, wouldn't it first show LESS smoke, then INCREASE as warmed?

Please help: the balance of the entire universe depends on your accurate & insightfull answer...
